Function 經過 in this usage is a preposition meaning ‘after’ or ‘subsequent to’.
1 經過父母多次的說明,她才明白要成功非努力不可。
Jīngguò fùmǔ duō cì de shuōmíng, tā cái míngbái yào chénggōng fēi nǔlì bùkě.
She didn’t really understand that to succeed, you must work hard, until after her parents explained it to her numerous times.
2 他的喉嚨經過多天的休息,最近好一點了。
Tā de hóulóng jīngguò duō tiān de xiūxí, zuìjìn hǎo yìdiǎn le.
After several days of rest, his throat has gotten a bit better.
3 我是經過兩年的準備,才考上公務員的。
Wǒ shì jīngguò liǎng nián de zhǔnbèi, cái kǎoshàng gōngwùyuán de.

Usage 經過 can also be a verb meaning ‘to pass a point’, e.g., 從台北去高雄,要經過台南。Cóng Táiběi qù Gāoxióng, yào jīngguò Táinán. ‘To get from Taipei to Kaohsiung, you need to pass through Tainan.’
