▎對…講究, (duì (Prep)...jiăngjiù (Vst)), to be discerning, discriminating, particular about
Function The use of this pattern indicates that the subject is very particular about the object of 對 and wants nothing but the very best.
1 鈴木先生沒想到台南人對吃這麼講究。
Língmù xiānshēng méi xiǎngdào Táinán rén duì chī zhème jiǎngjiù.
Mr. Lingmu had no idea that the people of Tainan were so particular about foods.
2 高先生對住的環境非常講究,不但要離車站近,附近還要有公園。
Gāo xiānshēng duì zhù de huánjìng fēicháng jiǎngjiù, búdàn yào lí chēzhàn jìn, fùjìn hái yào yǒu gōngyuán.
Mr. Gao is very particular about where he lives. Not only does it have to be close to the public transportation, it also has to have a park nearby.
3 小張對吃東西不怎麼講究,常常吃麵包或是超商的速食。
Xiǎo Zhāng duì chī dōngxi bù zěme jiǎngjiù, chángcháng chī miànbāo huò shì chāoshāng de sùshí.
Xiao Zhang isn’t all that fussy about what he eats. He often has bread or fast food from convenience stores.
4 李小姐對衣服的品質很講究,總是買名牌的。
Li xiǎojiě duì yīfú de pǐnzhí hěn jiǎngjiù, zǒngshì mǎi míngpái de.
Miss Li is very particular about the quality of her clothes and always buys famous brand names.
5 對吃很講究的人,不一定都胖。
Duì chī hěn jiǎngjiù de rén, bùyídìng dōu pàng.
People who care a great deal about eating aren’t necessarily all over-weight.
