That's called having some guts! We used to be really poor, and what we said didn't matter. But now China's different. How about showing some pride at being from a powerful country! The ancient virtues of gentleness, respect, frugality and deference-- isn't it clear that these are just an invitation for others to take advantage of us?

That's excessive Chinese modesty. We feel like it's overconfidence, when at most, it's self-confidence. And furthermore, what other countries could develop for decades the way China has? We have every right to be self-confident. Look how lousy Wenzhou business people had it in the past. They got rich entirely by pulling themselves up by the bootstraps. Now they're rich, and they can buy whatever they like.
B 還拉動國外消費了，是不是？
