zài kàn shénme?

What are you looking at?

guānyú Dōngjīng de jìlù piàn. zhè ge chéngshì zhēnshì guāngguàilùlí. yǒu guāngxiān liànglì de yī miàn, yě yǒu yīn àn qīcǎn de yī miàn.

A documentary about Tokyo. This city is really fantastic. It has a bright and shiny side, but also a dark and tragic side.

Rìběn běnlái liǎngjí fēnhuà jiù lìhai, ér Dōngjīng yòu jízhōng tǐxiàn le zhè yīdiǎn. zài Yínzuò, shàngbān zú dōu shì zhěngqí de wǎng qián bēnzǒu, fēicháng yǒu guīlǜ. kěshì dào Yuánsù, Shègǔ, wánquán jiùshì lìngwài yīpiàn tiāndì . dōu shì dǎbàn qiánwèi de niánqīngrén.

Japan's polarization has always been really remarkable. And Tokyo really concentrates and embodies it. In Ginza, the office workers all rush forward. They're extremely orderly. But when you get to Harajuku and Shibuya, it's completely different. It's all young people decked out in the most avant-garde fashions.

duì, tāmen hé chéngrén shìjiè ànbùjiùbān de zuòshì fāngshì wánquán xiāngfǎn. bùguò, děng tāmen jìnrù shèhuì yǐhòu, yě huì chuānshàng fēngyī, chéngwéi Yínzuò wúshù báilǐng lǐ de yī yuán. zhè bù piānzi lǐ jiù cǎifǎng le hǎojǐ ge zhèyàng de rén .

Yeah, they do things in a totally different way from the regimented adults. But after they enter the mainstream, they will become one of the countless white-collar workers of Ginza. In this movie they interviewed a lot of people like that.

ng4. Dōngjīng jiǎnzhí shénme dōu yǒu. zài nàlǐ yǒu zuì chuántǒng de xiàngpū, gēwǔ jì biǎoyǎn, yòu yǒu Dísīní, bàngqiú bǐsài , hái yǒu mǎn jiē de kǎlā OK hé diànzǐ yóuxìjī fáng. dì yī cì qù de rén yīdìng huì tóuyūn.

Hmm. Tokyo simply has everything. They have the most traditional sumo wrestling and singing and dancing performances, as well as Disney World, baseball games, and entire streets full of karaoke and video game arcades. First-time travelers must be blown away.

dìtiě gèng yūn, xiàng zhīzhūwǎng yīyàng. bùguò Dōngjīng jiāotōng de sìtōngbādá quán kào tā. yǒurén shuō dìtiě shì Dōngjīng de suōyǐng, zhǐyào kàn yīxià lièchē hé chéngkè, jiù néng lǐnglǜe dào Dōngjīng de shēnghuó.

The subway is even crazier. It's like a spider's web. But the universality of Tokyo's public transport system relies completely on it. Some people say that the subway is Tokyo in microcosm. You just need to see one car and its passengers and you can get a feel for life in Tokyo.

tīngshuō dìtiě zhàn lǐ yǒu hěn duō mài gāli fàn de xiǎodiàn, xiǎo de lián zuòwèi dōu méiyǒu. rénmen jǐ zài yīqǐ zhàn zhe chīfàn, sānwǔ fēnzhōng jiù gǎo dìng yī cān, jǐnjiē zhe jiù gǎnqù bié de dìfang. zhěnggè chéngshì dōu chǔ zài gāosù gāoyā zhōng yùnzhuǎn. ai, zhèyàng de yālì zěnme shòudeliǎo ?

I've heard that there are a lot of curry-rice shops in the subway, so small that they don't even have seats. People stand crowded together to eat, and polish off a meal in under five minutes. Then they rush off to the next place. The entire city runs under high speed and pressure. Agh. How can anyone stand that kind of pressure?

nánguài Dōngjīng huì yǒu zhème duō yúlè chǎngsuǒ. nánrén jiěyā de fāngfǎ jiùshì xià le bān qù hē jǐ bēi, ér nǚrén ne, jiùshì mǎi dōngxi.

It's no wonder Tokyo has so many entertainment venues. To blow off steam, men go drinking after work. And women, well, they go shopping.

bùguò zhù jiǔ le yě jiù xíguàn le. Dōngjīng wùjià gāo de xiàrén, wǒ yǒu ge qīnqi gāng dào Dōngjīng de shíhou yī tiān yào dǎ hǎojǐ fèn gōng lái wéichí shēnghuó.

But if you've lived there a while you get used to it. Things are frighteningly expensive in Tokyo. I have a relative who had to take all kinds of jobs to support himself when he first arrived there.

yǒurén zuò guo diàochá, shuō Dōngjīng shì rénjūn shēchǐpǐn xiāofèi zuì gāo de chéngshì.

Someone did a survey and found that on the average, Tokyo residents spend more on luxury goods than anyone else in the world.

bùguò tā yě yǒu ānjìng de yī miàn. chéngshì lǐ yǒu hěn duō xiǎo huāyuán , hái yǒu yīxiē gǔlǎo de sìmiào. érqiě Dōngjīng jìnjiāo de zìrán fēngguāng yě hěn měi, Fùshìshān jiù zài nàr. xiánxiá de shíhou, huòzhě yālì dà de shíhou qù tòutou qì, háishì bùcuò de.

But it does have its quiet side. There are a lot of little gardens in the city, and some ancient temples. And the natural scenery near Tokyo is really beautiful. Mt. Fuji is right there. On vacation, or when the pressure is just too high, you can go there and take a breather. That's pretty good.

zǒngzhī wǒ juéde Dōngjīng shì ge tèbié shuōbuqīng de chéngshì. bùguò jiùshì yīnwèi zhèzhǒng máodùn hé fùzá, cái gèng xīyǐn rén ba.

All in all, I think Tokyo is a really hard city to describe clearly. But maybe it is so attractive to people precisely because of all its contradictions and complications.
