In order for the nation to economically develop and attract foreign investment, they established special regions with favorable policies.

C 對了，林峰，是鄧小平。他想改革中國封閉、落後的經濟，又碰上香港商人要求來廣東投資。所以他就決定在深圳設立經濟特區。

D 五個，除了深圳以外，還有珠海、廈門、汕頭和海南。

wǔ ge, chúle Shēnzhèn yǐwài, hái yǒu Zhūhǎi, Xiàmén, Shàntóu hé Hǎinán.

There are five. Besides Shenzhen, there is Zhuhai, Xiamen, Shantou, and Hainan.

A 怎麼都在南方？國家真偏心。

zěnme dōu zài nánfāng? guójiā zhēn piānxīn.

How come they are all in the south? The country is really biased.

C 陳磊問得好。上海不是特區，屬於沿海開放城市。但它同樣有很多優惠政策。

Chén Lěi wèn de hǎo. Shànghǎi bù shì tèqū, shǔyú yánhǎi kāifàng chéngshì. dàn tā tóngyàng yǒu hěn duō yōuhuì zhèngcè.

Chen Lei asks a good question. Shanghai is not a special economic zone. It belongs the one of the coastal open market cities that have many preferential policies.

A 好複雜，一會兒是特區，一會兒是開放城市。

hǎo fùzá, yīhuìr shì tèqū, yīhuìr shì kāifàng chéngshì.

So complicated--you have special zones, then you have open market cities.

C 其實大家只要記住國家為什麼要設立這些特區就行了。

qíshí dàjiā zhǐyào jìzhu guójiā wèishénme yào shèlì zhèxiē tèqū jiù xíng le.

Actually, everyone only needs to remember why China established these special zones.
