▎都, dōu, (Adv), expressing displeasure, annoyance or surprise (2)
Function The adverb 都 qualifies an unexpected or unusual state of affairs. With it, the speaker expresses displeasure, annoyance or surprise.
1 都幾點了?你還不起床!
Dōu jǐ diǎn le? Nǐ hái bù qǐchuáng!
Do you know what time it is now? Get out of bed!
2 我都等了你兩個鐘頭了,你還沒到。我要走了!
Wǒ dōu děngle nǐ liǎng ge zhōngtóu le, nǐ hái méi dào. Wǒ yào zǒu le!
I’ve been waiting for two hours already, and you’re not here yet. I’m leaving!
3 我都給你五千塊錢了!還不夠嗎?
Wǒ dōu gěi nǐ wǔqiān kuài qián le, hái bú gòu ma?
I’ve given you 5,000 dollars, that’s not enough!?
4 風水學都用了一千多年了。應該有值得相信的部分吧?
Fēngshuǐ xué dōu yòngle yìqiān duō nián le. Yīnggāi yǒu zhíde xiāngxìn de bùfèn ba?
