▎不再…了, (bú zài...le), not...any more

 

Function The use of this structure indicates that the subject abandons an old routine/habit/belief.

1 他覺得自己長大了，可以獨立了，就不再接受父母的幫助了。

Tā juéde zìjǐ zhǎngdà le, kěyǐ dúlì le, jiù bú zài jiēshòu fùmǔ de bāngzhù le.

He feels that he has grown up and can be independent, so he doesn’t accept his parents’ help anymore.

2 我已經跟我男朋友分手了，我們不再見面了。

Wǒ yǐjīng gēn wǒ nánpéngyǒu fēnshǒu le, wǒmen bú zài jiànmiàn le.

I have broken up with my boyfriend. We no longer see each other.

3 那家店的東西品質不是很好，而且價錢很貴，我不再去了。

Nà jiā diàn de dōngxi pǐnzhí búshì hěn hǎo, érqiě jiàqián hěn guì, wǒ bú zài qù le.

The quality of the products in that store isn’t all that good and the prices are expensive. I no longer go there.

4 漫畫不再吸引我了。現在我喜歡看談歷史的書。

Mànhuà bú zài xīyǐn wǒ le. Xiànzài wǒ xǐhuān kàn tán lìshǐ de shū.

Comics no longer have the draw on me than they used to. I now like to read books on history.

5 他現在越來越喜歡狗了，覺得養狗很快樂，不再是負擔了。

Tā xiànzài yuèláiyuè xǐhuan gǒu le, juéde yǎng gǒu hěn kuàilè, bú zài shì fùdān le.

He likes dogs more and more. He feels that raising dogs is a joy and no longer a burden.
