▎把, bǎ, (Ptc), Moving an Object to a Location (2)

 

Function It has been presented that 把 disposes of things. Most typically, disposal results in relocating things.

1 我把球踢到學校外面了。

Wǒ bǎ qiú tī dào xuéxiào wàimiàn le.

I kicked the ball out of the school yard.

2 他想把公司搬到台南。

Tā xiǎng bǎ gōngsī bān dào Táinán.

He wants to move the company to Tainan.

3 我打算把這個蛋糕拿到學校請同學吃。

Wǒ dǎsuàn bǎ zhè ge dàngāo ná dào xuéxiào qǐng tóngxué chī.

I plan to take this cake to school and treat my classmates to it.

4 我要把這包茶送給老師。

Wǒ yào bǎ zhè bāo chá sòng gěi lǎoshī.

I want to give this package of tea to my teacher.

5 請妳把那件衣服拿給小高。

Qǐng nǐ bǎ nà jiàn yīfú ná gěi Xiǎo Gāo.

Please give that dress to Xiao Gao.

6 我打算把舊車賣給高先生。

Wǒ dǎsuàn bǎ jiù chē mài gěi Gāo xiānshēng.

I plan to sell the old car to Mr. Gao.

7 請你把那張椅子放在樓下。

Qǐng nǐ bǎ nà zhāng yǐzi fàng zài lóuxià.

Please put that chair downstairs.

8 我要把媽媽給我的錢存在銀行裡。

Wǒ yào bǎ māma gěi wǒ de qián cún zài yínháng lǐ.

I want to deposit the money Mom gave me in the bank.

 

Structures The pattern is A＋把＋B＋Verb＋Prep (到, 在, 給)＋Location. 到 and 在 are used with places and 給 with people. Futhermore, 到 is used with ‘moving’ verbs, and 在 with ‘placing’ verbs.

Negation：

1 他沒把資料帶到學校來，可是還好我帶了。

Tā méi bǎ zīliào dài dào xuéxiào lái, kěshì háihǎo wǒ dài le.

He didn’t take the documents to the school. It’s a good thing I did though.

2 別把那本書賣給別人，賣給我吧。

Bié bǎ nà běn shū mài gěi biérén, mài gěi wǒ ba.

Don’t sell anyone else that book, sell it to me.

3 我還沒把這個月的房租拿給房東。

Wǒ hái méi bǎ zhè ge yuè de fángzū ná gěi fángdōng.

I haven’t given the landlord this month’s rent yet.

4 他還沒把買電視的錢付給老闆。

Tā hái méi bǎ mǎi diànshì de qián fù gěi lǎobǎn.

He hasn’t given his boss the money to be spent on a TV.

5 別把隨身碟放在桌子上。

Bié bǎ suíshēndié fàng zài zhuōzi shàng.

Don’t put the flash drive on the desk.

6 他沒把錢放在我這裡，他帶回家了。

Tā méi bǎ qián fàng zài wǒ zhèlǐ, tā dàihuí jiā le.

He didn’t leave the money here with me, he took it home.

Questions： Either the pattern A-not-A or 是不是 is used.

1 妳是不是把我的書帶到學校來了？

Nǐ shìbúshì bǎ wǒ de shū dài dào xuéxiào lái le?

Did you bring my book to school?

2 你把機車騎到公司來了沒有？我等一下要用。

Nǐ bǎ jīchē qí dào gōngsī lái le méi yǒu? Wǒ děng yíxià yào yòng.

Did you ride the motorcycle to work? I need it soon.

3 你把那本本子拿給老師了沒有？

Nǐ bǎ nà běn běnzi ná gěi lǎoshī le méi yǒu?

Did you take that notebook to the teacher?

4 你是不是把照相機送給她了？

Nǐ shìbúshì bǎ zhàoxiàngjī sòng gěi tā le?

Did you give the camera to her?

5 房東是不是把熱水器裝在浴室外面了？

Fángdōng shìbúshì bǎ rèshuǐqì zhuāng zài yùshì wàimiàn le?

Did the landlord install the gas hot water heater outside?

6 你把學費用在什麼地方了？

Nǐ bǎ xuéfèi yòng zài shénme dìfāng le?

What did you spend your tuition on?
