Daddy will look at Lee’s homework to see if it is correct or not. If some of the writing is wrong, Daddy will correct it for Lee.

做完作業後，李會把作業給爸爸看，並請他改正。李想在星期一把作業交給老師之前把作業做好。爸爸會看李的作業，看他做對了沒。如果有些書寫錯誤，爸爸會糾正李的錯誤。

Mommy wants to start getting dinner ready. She will have a lot of work to do today because there is nobody to help her. Pat can’t help her because she has a headache and is very tired. She wants to go to her bedroom to sleep. Lee can’t help her because he has to finish his homework. Daddy can’t help her because he is going to work in his garden. Mommy doesn’t want Daddy to do that. She wants Daddy to come into the kitchen and help her with dinner.

Daddy

What? Me? Help with dinner? What about Pat? Why don’t you ask Pat to help you?

Mommy

Pat can’t help me. She’s not very well. She has a headache. Come on! I want to finish getting dinner ready now. It’s nearly six o’clock.

Daddy

Oh, all right. But you know I’m not very good in the kitchen. What do you want me to do?

Mommy

You can start getting the vegetables ready. There are some onions and tomatoes on that plate over there. Start with the onions.

Daddy

I’m not very good with onions. What about potatoes? Are we having any potatoes today?

Mommy

No, we aren’t having any potatoes today. We are having rice.

Daddy

Okay. I’ll start on the onions. What are you going to do?

Mommy

I’m going to get the chicken ready. I bought a very big chicken for dinner today. It will be a long time before the chicken is ready, but I want the vegetables to be ready first.

Daddy

Yes. Chickens usually take a long time, don’t they? And big chickens take a really long time. The last time we had chicken, we had to wait until nine o’clock before we could start eating.

Mommy

We had to wait a long time because there was nobody to help me in the kitchen. Everybody was in the living room, watching television.

Daddy

Really?

Mommy

Yes. Don’t you remember? I had to spend all day in the kitchen. All you and the children did was stay in the living room, watching television.

Daddy

Did we? That’s not very good, is it? Sorry about that. Oh, I think I can hear Pat. Yes, I can hear her coming out of her bedroom now. That’s good. Now, Pat can help you. Pat is much better in the kitchen than I am.

媽媽

孩子的爸爸，你能過來幫我準備晚餐嗎？

爸爸

什麼？我？幫忙準備晚餐？佩特呢？你為什麼不讓佩特幫你呢？

媽媽

佩特幫不了我。她不太舒服。她頭痛。來吧！我想現在就把晚餐準備好。快六點了。

爸爸

哦，好吧。可是你知道我對廚房這些事不在行。要我幫你做些什麼？

媽媽

你可以開始準備蔬菜了。那邊的盤子裡有幾個洋蔥和西紅柿。先從洋蔥開始。

爸爸

我不太會弄洋蔥。土豆怎麼樣？我們今天吃土豆嗎？

媽媽

不，我們今天不吃土豆。我們今天吃米飯。

爸爸
