It is Wednesday morning, and Lee and Pat are in their classroom with their friends. This morning, all the children are studying their English books. The children usually study English on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. In the afternoons, they study other things, but on those mornings they only study English.

Usually the children read one or two pages in their books, but sometimes they read more. Sometimes, some of the children read a lot more. Pat usually reads a lot more than two pages. When the teacher thinks the children understand enough, she usually asks them to stop reading and close their books.

After the children close their books, the teacher usually asks the children some questions about their English books. She wants to see how much they can remember and how much they understand. Lee sometimes gives right answers to the teacher’s questions. Tom usually gives right answers, but Pat always gives right answers. Pat is very good at English now.

All the children in this class really like to study English. They like to learn new words, and they like to answer the teacher’s questions. They like to answer the questions in their English books, too. Some of the questions in their books are easy, and some of the questions in their books are not so easy.

Later this morning, the teacher is going to take the children to a shop that sells English books for children. The teacher needs some new books for her classroom, and she wants the children to help her look for them. The shop that sells books that can help children study English is called “The Children’s Bookshop”.

這天上午晚些時候，老師打算帶孩子們去賣兒童英語書籍的商店裡買書。老師需要給班裡的同學準備一些新書，她希望孩子們能幫她一起挑選。那家書店出售幫助孩子們學習英語的書，書店名叫“兒童書店”。

Lee

Why?

Teacher

Because that shop usually closes at twelve o’clock. They close for lunch. Sometimes, they close a little after twelve o’clock, but usually they close at twelve o’clock.

Lee

I see. What books are we going to buy?

Teacher

Well, I want you and the other children to look at all the books and tell me which ones you like.

Lee

And then will you buy all the books we like?

Teacher

I will buy them if they are not too expensive. If some books are very expensive, I cannot buy all of them.

Lee

And if some of the books are cheap?

Teacher

If some of the books are cheap, I can buy a lot. I want you and your friends to look for good, cheap, interesting books.

Lee

I’m going to look for a book about animals. I really like to study books that tell me about animals. I want to study and understand everything about the animals I like.

Teacher

Oh, really? Which animals do you like? Which animals do you want to learn more about?

Lee

Rats and snakes. I want to learn everything about those animals!
