C: 挺好的。我原來還以為家庭旅館的條件比較差，沒想到這麼舒服。
tǐng hǎo de. wǒ yuánlái hái yǐwéi jiātíng lǚguǎn de tiáojiàn bǐjiào chà, méixiǎngdào zhème shūfu.
Really well. I always thought that the conditions in guesthouses were quite poor. I didn't realize it would be so comfortable.
B: 這幾年鎮上的遊客越來越多了，我們的服務和設施也得跟上去。
zhèjǐnián zhèn shàng de yóukè yuèláiyuè duō le, wǒmen de fúwù hé shèshī yě děi gēn shàngqu.
There have been more and more tourists these past few years. Our services and facilities have to keep up.
A: 但是太現代化了也不好，就失去了原來的味道。我之前去過的很多古鎮，商業味道都太濃厚了。你們這兒保護得還比較好。我昨天來的時候，看見路上有些人穿著傳統的民族服飾。

But if it's become too modernized, that's no good either. You'll lose the original flavor. I've been to a lot of ancient towns in the past where the feeling was just too commercial. You guys here have done a pretty good job with preservation. When I got here yesterday I saw some people on the street wearing their traditional ethnic attire.
B: 其實本地人還是喜歡留在這裡生活。做一些手工藝品，開開家庭旅館，生活還不錯。
qíshí běndìrén háishì xǐhuan liú zài zhèlǐ shēnghuó. zuò yīxiē shǒugōngyìpǐn, kāi kai jiātíng lǚguǎn, shēnghuó hái bùcuò.
Actually, the local people quite like to stick around and live here. They can make handicrafts, open a guesthouse - it's not a bad life.
C: 我們要看的就是你們原汁原味的生活。像你們這種建在河邊的房子就很有特色，外面看起來是傳統的吊腳樓。晚上睡在裡面，聽著潺潺的流水聲，看著河兩岸的燈火，這感覺真棒。
wǒmen yào kàn de jiùshì nǐmen yuánzhīyuánwèi de shēnghuó. xiàng nǐmen zhèzhǒng jiàn zài hébiān de fángzi jiù hěn yǒu tèsè, wàimian kàn qǐlai shì chuántǒng de diàojiǎolóu. wǎnshang shuì zài lǐmiàn, tīng zhe chánchán de liúshuǐshēng, kàn zhe hé liǎng'àn de dēnghuǒ, zhè gǎnjué zhēn bàng.
What we want to see is what your lives were really like. Like these buildings that you build on the riverside – they're so distinctive. From the outside, they look like the traditional stilt-houses. Sleeping inside at night, listening to the babbling sounds of flowing water, watching the lights on both sides of the river – it's such a great feeling.
B: 在河邊建房子是有規定的，要仿造傳統吊腳樓的樣子，不能亂建。
zài hébiān jiàn fángzi shì yǒu guīdìng de, yào fǎngzào chuántǒng diàojiǎolóu de yàngzi, bùnéng luàn jiàn.
There are rules about building houses on the riverside. You have to model them on the traditional stilt-houses. You can't just build whatever you'd like.
A: 這個做法不錯。既保留傳統，又便利生活。
zhè ge zuòfǎ bùcuò. jì bǎoliú chuántǒng, yòu biànlì shēnghuó.
This is a pretty good way of doing it. It preserves the tradition as well as being convenient.
C: 老闆娘，我們今天想去看一些古建築，你給我們推薦一下吧。
lǎobǎnniáng, wǒmen jīntiān xiǎng qù kàn yīxiē gǔ jiànzhù, nǐ gěi wǒmen tuījiàn yīxià ba.
Ma'am, we're going to check out some ancient architecture today. Could you give us some suggestions?
B: 沿著河邊往前走，最前面的那棟吊腳樓有兩百多年的歷史了。去年政府還專門修繕了一下。另外還可以去一下沈從文故居。
yán zhe hébiān wǎng qián zǒu, zuì qiánmian de nà dòng diàojiǎolóu yǒu liǎngbǎi duō nián de lìshǐ le. qùnián zhèngfǔ hái zhuānmén xiūshàn le yīxià. lìngwài hái kěyǐ qù yīxià Shěn Cóngwén gùjū.
Continue up ahead following the river. The first stilt-house has more than 200 years of history. Last year the government even came and did an official restoration. Also, you can go to Shen Congwen's former residence.
A: 我們先去看老吊腳樓吧。早晨空氣好，也不喧鬧，拍照最好了。
wǒmen xiān qù kàn lǎo diàojiǎolóu ba. zǎochén kōngqì hǎo, yě bù xuānnào, pāizhào zuì hǎo le.
Let's go check out the old stilt-houses first. The air is good in the morning and it's quiet. It's the best time to take pictures.
B: 我去給你們準備早飯。
wǒ qù gěi nǐmen zhǔnbèi zǎofàn.
I'll go get your breakfast ready.
C: 不急不急。我們回來再吃。
bù jí bù jí. wǒmen huílai zài chī.
There's no rush. We'll eat after we get back.
