24. Everybody is going home 大家都回家了

Now, Mommy and Daddy are in Uncle’s old car. Both the children are there, too. Uncle is taking everybody home. Lee and Pat are sitting behind Daddy. Lee is sitting next to the door. Daddy is sitting in front, next to Uncle. Mommy is sitting behind with the children. She is sitting next to the other door.

現在，媽媽和爸爸坐在叔叔的舊車裡，兩個孩子也在。叔叔帶大家回家，李和佩特坐在爸爸後面。李坐在車門旁邊，爸爸坐在前座，爸爸坐在叔叔的旁邊。媽媽和孩子們坐在車後座，她坐在另一扇車門的旁邊。

Uncle’s old car is not so good. It is not like his new car. His new car is very good. Uncle’s old car is not very good, but it’s all right. Uncle’s old car is good enough to take everybody home.

叔叔的舊汽車不是很好，不像他的新汽車。他的新汽車非常不錯，叔叔的舊汽車不是很好，但也還可以。叔叔的舊汽車足夠載大家回家了。

The family were at Auntie and Uncle’s new house all day on Saturday and Sunday. They like to be with Auntie and Uncle. Both Auntie and Uncle are very kind and friendly. They are also fun to be with. Lee, Pat, Mommy and Daddy were very happy at Auntie and Uncle’s house. It was a lot of fun.

星期六整天和星期天整天全家人都待在阿姨和叔叔的房子裡。他們喜歡與阿姨和叔叔在一起，阿姨和叔叔非常善良友好，和他們相處也很有趣。李、佩特、媽媽和爸爸在阿姨和叔叔的房子裡都很開心，非常有趣。

Now, Lee and his family are going home. They are going home to sleep. Nobody wants to go home, but they have to. Tomorrow is Monday. It will be the start of a new week. Tomorrow, the children will have to go to school, and Mommy and Daddy will have to go to work.

現在，李和他的家人要回家了。他們要回家睡覺，沒人想回家，但他們必須回去了。明天是星期一，是新的一週的開始。明天，孩子們要去上學，媽媽和爸爸要去上班。

This week was a very busy week for Lee and Pat. Next week will be very busy, too. Lee and Pat will have a lot of things to do next week. Both Lee and Pat will be very busy every day next week.

這周對李和佩特來說是忙碌的一週，下週也會很忙。李和佩特下週會有很多事情要做，李和佩特下週的每一天都會很忙。

Lee and Pat are both hungry now. They will be home soon, and then they can both have something to eat. Both Lee and Pat are thinking about Kim, their dog. When the children were at Auntie and Uncle’s house, Kim was at home. He was looking after the house. He is at the house now, waiting for the family to come back.

李和佩特現在都餓了。他們不久就會到家，然後他們可以吃點東西。李和佩特在想它們的小狗金。孩子們在叔叔阿姨家的時候，金在家裡。它在看家，它現在在家等全家人回來。

Kim was at the house all day yesterday and all day today, too. Nobody was in the house. Kim was outside the house, looking after it. Kim always sleeps outside the house near the kitchen door.

金昨天一天和今天一天都在家裡，沒人在房子裡。金在房子外面，看守房子。金總是睡在屋外廚房大門的旁邊。

The family will be home soon. Then, Kim will be very happy. He will be very, very happy to see all the family again. When all the family are home, everybody will go into the kitchen to get something to eat. After that, they will go to their bedrooms to sleep so they can be ready for next week.

一家人很快就到家了，金會非常開心，再次見到所有家人它會非常非常開心。所有人回到家都會去廚房吃點東西。然後，他們會去臥室睡覺，為迎接下一個星期做好準備。

Well Lee, we will be home soon. Tell me what you think about Auntie and Uncle’s new house.

Lee

Pardon?

Daddy

How about your time at Auntie and Uncle’s new house? Was it fun?

Lee

Oh, yes. It was a lot of fun. Auntie and Uncle are always fun to be with. And they are always very kind and friendly. I really like their new house. I’d like to live in a house like that.

Daddy

Really? Why? Why would you like to live in a house like that?

Lee

Because their new house has a lot of everything. It has a lot of big rooms, a beautiful bathroom, a big kitchen, a really big color TV – their new house has everything!

Daddy

Yes it does, doesn’t it?

Lee

And they have a beautiful garden where they grow lots of fruit trees and flowers and look after their chickens and ducks. Auntie and Uncle have everything!

Daddy

I don’t think they have everything, Lee. They don’t have any cows, monkeys or tigers, do they?

Lee

They don’t have any cows, monkeys or tigers because those animals are very difficult to look after. Those animals only live on farms or in zoos.

Daddy

How about you? Would you like to look after animals like those?

Lee

Yes, I would. When I grow up, would like to work on a big farm with lots of animals.

Daddy

Farms don’t have monkeys or tigers, do they? They only have animals like cows, chickens and ducks. They don’t have animals like the ones you see in a zoo.

Lee

Yes, I know that animals like tigers, monkeys, elephants and snakes live in zoos. When I grow up, if I can’t work on a farm, I would like to work in a zoo. Can I, Daddy? Can I work in a zoo?

Daddy

I don’t know yet, Lee. Wait and see. You are only nine years old now. Let’s wait for you to grow up first. Then we can speak about what you would like to be.

爸爸

哎，李，我們很快要到家了。跟我說說，你覺得阿姨和叔叔的房子怎麼樣。

李

對不起，您再問一遍好嗎？

爸爸

你在阿姨和叔叔的新家玩得怎麼樣？有意思嗎？

李

嗯，是的，很有趣。和阿姨和叔叔相總是很有趣，他們總是很善良很友好。我很喜歡他們的新房子，我想要住在像那樣的房子裡面。

爸爸

是嗎？為什麼？為什麼你想要住在像那樣的房子裡面？

李

因為他們的新房子有很多東西。有很多大的房間，一個漂亮的衛生間，一個大廚房，一個很大的彩色電視機——他們的新家裡有什麼都有！

爸爸

是啊，誰說不是呢。

李

他們還有一個漂亮的大花園，他們在那裡種了很多果樹和鮮花，他們還在那裡照看他們的小雞和鴨子。阿姨和叔叔什麼都有！

爸爸

我想他們不是什麼都有，李。他們沒有牛、猴子和老虎，是不是？

李

他們沒有牛、猴子和老虎是因為這些動物很難照看。那些動物只生活在農場或者動物園裡。

爸爸

那你呢？你想要照顧像那樣的動物嗎？

李

是的，我想。我長大後想在一個大農場工作，和動物們在一起。

爸爸

農場裡沒有猴子和老虎，是吧。它們只有像牛、雞和鴨之類的動物。他們沒有像你在動物園裡看到的動物。

李

嗯，我知道像老虎、猴子、大象和蛇那樣的動物是生活在動物園裡的。如果我長大之不能在農場裡工作，我想去動物園工作。可以嗎，爸爸？我可以在動物園裡工作嗎？

爸爸

我還不知道，李，到時再說吧。你現在只有9歲，我們先等你長大，然後我們再討論你想做什麼。
