zhè liǎng ge yuè" qīngchūn wénxué” xìliè xiāoliàng hěn hǎo.
These last few months the, “Youth Literature” series has been selling really well.
fàng shǔjià ma, zhōngxuéshēng dōu mǎi lái kàn.
It's summer vacation. All the middle school students are buying them and checking them out.
A: 是啊。
shì a. nǐmen liǎ yě shì bālíng hòu, xǐhuan tónglíngrén xiě de dōngxi ma?
That's right. You two were born in the 80's – do you like what your contemporaries are writing?
háixíng ba! Hán Hán、 Guō Jìngmíng、 Zhāng Yuèrán de zuòpǐn wǒ dōu kàn guo. dōu shì shàng zhōngxué de shíhou kàn de. wǒ yǒu yīzhènzi hái tèbié xiǎng chuòxué chuàngzuò xiǎoshuō ne!
It's all right. I've read Han Han, Guo Jingming, and Zhang Yueran's works. I read them all when I was in middle school. There was a period of time during which I really wanted to drop out of school and write fiction!
hēhē, nǐ xiǎng xué Hán Hán?
Heh-heh. You wanted to be like Han Han?
pēngjī yìngshì jiàoyù, qīngchūn de ài hé tòng, mímáng hé yōushāng, dāngshí wǒ juéde wǒ yě néng xiěchū hǎo jǐ běn shū lái.
Attacking the exam-based education system, the love and pain of youth, feeling lost and sad – at the time, I felt like I could write more than a few books myself.
kànlai rénrén dōu yǒu nàme yī duàn fǎnpàn qī. nánguài bālíng hòu zuòjiā de" qīngchūn wénxué” yǒu nàme pángdà de zhōngxuéshēng dúzhě qún.
It seems like everyone goes through that kind of rebellious phase. No wonder this, “Youth Literature” magazine written by authors born in the 80's has such a huge following of middle school students.
wǒ yě chàbuduō jiù zhōngxué shíhou rènzhēn kàn guo. xiànzài méi gǎnjué le, kàndào le jiù húluàn fān fan.
I was pretty much a middle school student myself when I really sat down and read them. Now I'm not really into them. If I see one, I just flip through it casually.
nà nǐmen zěnme kàndài zhèxiē bālíng hòu zuòjiā?
Well, then how do you guys feel about these 80's authors?
wǒ juéde zhèxiē rén dōu shì tiāncái xíng de, yǔyán jīngzhì, biǎoxiàn lì qiáng, méi jīnglì guo de dōngxi yě néng xiě de línlíjìnzhì. suīrán bù zěnme bèi zhǔliú wénxué rèntóng, dàn háishì yǒu wǒmen bālíng hòu de xiānmíng tèsè de.
I think they're very talented authors who are wonderful with language and have a strong sense of expression. They can write vividly about things they've never experienced themselves. Although they haven't really been recognized by mainstream literature, they have the same distinct flavor as us born in the 80's.
tāmen rénqì zhème gāo gēn wǎngluò shídài hé shìchǎng jīngjì yě yǒu guānxi. xiànzài huòqǔ zhīshi hé fābiǎo zuòpǐn dōu hěn róngyì, zài jiāshang méitǐ chǎozuò hé chūbǎnshè zhuīpěng, hěn kuài jiù mínglìshuāngshōu le. zhǐ pà chéngmíng róngyì, qiánlì bùzú.
There being so much buzz about them is also related to the age of the internet and this market economy. Right now, acquiring knowledge and getting your literature out there is easy. On top of that, there's attention from the media and support from publishing companies. People can get rich and famous quickly. The fear is that becoming famous easily doesn't mean they have enough real potential.
yī dài rén yǒu yī dài rén de wénxué. bālíng hòu zuòjiā de chéngjì shì yǒumùgòngdǔ de. dàn bìjìng yuèlì qiǎn, tícái dānyī, xiězuò de shēndù hé guǎngdù shàngmian yǒu bùshǎo yìngshāng. yī ge zuòjiā, méiyǒu shēnghuó yuèlì hé shíjiān jīdiàn shì xiěbuchū zhēnzhèng de hǎo zuòpǐn de.
Every generation has their literature. The achievements of authors born in the 80's are clear for all to see. But, when all is said and done, they're inexperienced and their subject matter is all the same. It really has had a negative effect on the depth and scope of their writings. A writer without life experience and the knowledge that accumulates over time can't write a genuinely good piece of literature.
shì shì shì. bùguò wǒ juéde Hán Hán chízǎo huì xiěchū yǒu fènliang de dōngxi de. wǒ tǐng pèifú zhè jiāhuo de, sàichē, xiě shū, bàn zázhì, yàngyàng dōu shì tiāncái. bùkuì shì bālíng hòu de jiǎojiǎozhě.
Right, right, right. However, I think Han Han will sooner or later write something of importance. I really admire that guy – racing cars, writing books, putting out magazines; he's talented in every way. He's worthy of being called the most outstanding person born in the 80's.
wǒ yě kànhǎo Hán Hán.
I think highly of Han Han too.
Hán Hán shì bālíng hòu zuòjiā de lǐngjūn rénwù a! bālíng hòu néng bu néng xiěchū gèng hǎo de zuòpǐn, wǒmen shìmùyǐdài ba! duì le, nǐmen liǎ yào shíkè liúyì diǎnjī lǜ gāo de bókè hé tiězi, wǒmen jìhuà zài chū yīxiē hǎo mài de shū, bié ràng bié de chūbǎnshè qiǎngzhàn le xiānjī.
Han Han is the leading figure among authors born in the 80's! Whether or not someone born in the 80's will be able to write something even better, we'll have to wait and see. That's right, you two will have to keep your eyes open for blogs and posts that are getting a lot of hits. We're planning on publishing some more good books, so don't let other publishing companies steal the opportunity.
hǎo, méiwèntí. wǒ zuìjìn kàndào jǐ ge jiǔlíng hòu xiě de xiǎoshuō zài wǎngshàng hěn huǒ.
OK, no problem. I've recently seen a few stories online written by people born in the 90's that are quite popular.
