A: 在忙什麼呢？天氣這麼好，週末我們去公園划船吧！

What are you busy with? The weather is so great, let's go boating in the park this weekend.
B: 哎，在備課呢。這兩週特忙，馬上要考HSK了，有很多學生來找我輔導。

B: 是啊，這幾年考的人一年比一年多。已經有幾百萬人蔘加過HSK考試啦！

Yeah. These past few years the number of people taking the test has been going up and up. There has already been a few million people who have taken the HSK!

How come there are so many people taking that test?
B: HSK是中國的託福啊！對留學生來說，HSK成績達到一定標準才能進入中國的大學學習。很多外企也要求員工考到6級或者更高。
HSK shì Zhōngguó de tuōfú a! duì liúxuéshēng láishuō, HSK chéngjì dádào yīdìng biāozhǔn cáinéng jìnrù Zhōngguó de dàxué xuéxí. hěn duō wàiqǐ yě yāoqiú yuángōng kǎo dào liù jí huòzhě gèng gāo.
HSK is the Chinese TOEFL! For study abroad students, you can only get into a Chinese university if you achieve a certain grade on the test. Many foreign companies also require that their personnel score a level six or higher.
A: 其實會說就行了，考什麼HSK！想想我們考英語四六級的時候吧，考了半天還不是啞巴英語，連個完整的句子都說不好。

Actually, as long as you can speak it's fine. Why take the HSK! Think back to when we tested at level 4 or 6 in English. We were testing all day long, but we still couldn't speak it. We couldn't even put together a proper complete sentence.
B: 話不能這麼說嘛！準備考試的過程也是一個系統學習的過程。可以好好地總結語法，訓練聽力和辨析詞語。而且HSK也算是比較科學的標準化考試了，聽說讀寫都要考查。

You don't know what you talking about! The procedure for preparing for a test is a systematic learning process in itself. You can thoroughly cement your grammar, and train your listening ability and ability to differentiate words. On top of that, HSK is considered a relatively scientific standard of testing. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are all tested.
A: 也是。現在中國發展這麼快，學好漢語拿個證書也能為找工作增添砝碼。

That's true. Right now China is developing so fast. Having a Chinese language certification can be an important factor in finding employment.
B: 嗯。不過現在參加考試的多數是日韓人，歐美人比較少。漢字和語法都讓歐美人頭痛。現在國家正在開發適合歐美人蔘加的漢語水平考試。
